I’m very happy with the final version of the Icom IC-2730 install in my 2024 4Runner.
Radio Head
The radio head is mounted to a 3D printed 1″ ball mount. I used a short arm extension to connect the to 1″ ball overhead console mount. This mount replaces the SOS button and is machined from aluminum and is very well made. [LINK]
Mic Connection
Luckily the IC-2730’s mic can be connected to the head or the radio body. I ordered a RJ45 passthrough made for the unused switch slots in my center console and used a CAT6 cable to connect to the main radio body that’s under the passenger seat. [LINK]
