AnyTone 8R Charger Modification
Since receiving my AnyTone TERMN-8R it has become my most widely used HT. Being used daily it needs charging often and many times I need to charge it on the go. Luckily this was an easy modification since the charger’s circuit is happy to accept anywhere between 12 and 15v DC. Be careful if you decide to do something similar with other HT chargers as they are not all created equal. The Wouxun chargers can handle the voltage of a vehicle’s alternator output however some of the Baofeng variants can’t. The Baofeng chargers are listed for 10v DC input but are normally able to handle 12-13v without issue so just be careful not to feed them with more than 13v DC.
I used my new favorite connector for anything radio, the Anderson Power Pole. Be sure to pick the correct connector for your application if using these as they have three different current rated versions that are all the same physical size and will connect together. DX Engineering stocks the entire line and has very fast shipping.
